Who runs this site
Lake Livingston Bulkheads is run by Texas Homeowner Referral Service, operated by a Polk County resident. It isn’t a construction company, and it isn’t affiliated with the Trinity River Authority.
Why it exists
Shoreline work on Lake Livingston has a step that catches people off guard. TRA owns and operates the lake, and its published process requires a shoreline permit to be recorded in the county deed records before construction begins. If it isn’t recorded first, the authorization is void. If the project includes lights, outlets, or a powered lift, TRA’s application calls for a TDLR-licensed electrical contractor.
Generic “seawall cost” pages don’t mention any of that. Our TRA permit guide walks through TRA’s published process step by step, so you know what to ask before anyone sets a piling.
How it works
You call or send the callback form with the property town, the kind of project, and your timeline. Your call goes to the independent local marine contractor we currently work with for that kind of job on your part of the lake. That contractor looks at the shoreline, quotes the job, handles scheduling, and does the work. You deal with them directly.
How we get paid
Local professionals pay us to receive calls from this site. You never pay us anything, and using this site doesn't change what the pro charges you. That’s a material connection between this site and the contractor, which is why it’s on this page in plain words.
How we choose who gets calls
{{VETTING_BULKHEADS}}
Texas doesn’t issue a state license for building bulkheads, docks, or boathouses, so there’s no state license number to look up for that part of the work. Electrical work is different. It needs a TDLR-licensed electrical contractor, as noted above. Our hiring guide covers the written scope, insurance, references, and permit paperwork to ask for.
What we don’t do
We don’t publish reviews or ratings. We don’t guarantee prices. We don’t warranty anyone’s work, and we don’t file TRA permits for you. Your agreement is with the contractor you hire, and the permit is between you, your contractor, and TRA.
